Hi. Dx'd with non small cell lung cancer 10/20. Almost to the 5 year clean mark. But had a hiccup. Found a tumor pushing on the brain and he it surgically removed. Came out of that okay, but still a smaller tumor close to the cerabellum. I was to do followup radiation but they found I was a good canidate for an oral medication. Entrectinib.

Drug makes me 'wobbly', tired, and has destroyed the taste of food. And yesterday I had an endoscopy because something is messed up in my throat and gives a slight challenge while trying to drink my daily dose or 64 oz of water.

I was doing quite well until this surgery. I'm normally up, but this one took my breath away.

Enough pitty party for now. Hope a better day for you all.

  1. Hi , I wanted to check back with you and see how you are doing? Has swallowing gotten any easier, and are you feeling steadier? - Warmly, Donna (Team Member)

    1. Good timing, I go this am for a swallow study.

I cannot say things have improved so I am hoping this study will find something that they can correct.

Thanks and have a great day!

      1. , I'm sending all good wishes, love and light, Craig, I hope you get answers and relief. Please keep in touch and let us know how it goes. -Warmly, Donna (Team Member)

    2. Hi.

Swallow study went well enough. Problem with swallowing likely came from the brain surgery. The 'fix' is to sip instead of drining normal speed. Brain is slower to react and that is the root cause.

So just another side effect to be accomodated.

      1. , well the results are encouraging, at least! I'm glad it is something fixable. Speech pathologists can offer help with swallowing problems. Your doctor should be able to provide a referral. I can tell that you're a bit annoyed with another side effect, but are you somewhat relieved that it's "fixable"? - Warmly, Donna (Team mMember)

    3. Yes of course. I'm pleased that there's a fix. The side is fixed. Just modify my existence. It would be nice to have less side effects, but I'm muddling through. Thanks for asking.

      1. , I hear that. It's terrible to have to be almost a contortionist of flexibility. Sometimes the side effects are more adverse the condition they are meant to treat.

I hope things continue to improve. - Warmly, Donna (Team Member)
