Lung Cancer and Technology
The role of technology like Artificial Intelligence is growing in lung cancer screening and treatment, so we'd like to know: What cancer-related technology fascinates you?
Anything that advances screening, especially less invasive procedures, fascinates/interests me. I am also curious as to whether most hospitals use the latest CAD software: Researchers found pulmonary-nodule detection rates were higher when experienced radiologists were assisted by computer-aided detection (CAD) software. Thanks for bringing this up, I am always interested in advancements in screening..

It is very exciting/interesting. Hopefully the pace of research will now pick-up - there is a noticeable COVID gap in published research. Following up, I also read an article that using AI scans that were not for lung cancer (heart or other organs) but incidentally catch a lung nodule will be automatically flagged for follow up and not get lost through the cracks as in the past. My friend had a scan for her back years ago and they never mentioned a lung nodule, only her back, the nodule fell through the cracks. Luckily it was eventually found, but at least a year later. ~ Alisa 
The jury is still out on this AI Tech; I'm sure in some instances it will be a landslide in detection but the initial phase may always be filled with some cons and hiccups. I guess we'll see if this is a good step for the community.
