Is this lung cancer ?

5 days back came from Boston to my home town in sf .

While coming back got fever on the flight. 2 days later intense coughing and then called doctors . Doctors checked and told me it was bronchitis and prescribed me antibiotics . It’s been 5 days but coughing has not stopped . Fever went away in 2 days . But coughing with white phelm and also post nasal drip .

Some of my history - was light smoker from 2002-2022 (4-5 cigarrates ( not packs ) per day ) . From 2022 end till 10 days ago vaping. Stopped vaping completely 10 days ago . So no smoking and no vaping .

Did a ct scan back in 2018 and had a 2mm nodule in right lung. But bi issues after that .

Doctor asked me to do ct scan again but he is confident that this is bronchitis and nothing else .

I am 47 years age old living in USA for last 20 years but of Indian origin .

Should I be worried or concerned ?

  1. I meant to say not bi issues but no issues after that in 2018 .

    1. Hi , it is important that you be comfortable with your doctor's plan for you. If you are not comfortable, it's okay to seek a second opinion.

My partner last year was feeling off. He was getting out of breath, and just generally exhausted. His doctor said just bad allergies. Then he developed a terrible deep cough. He got a second opinion and they diagnosed pneumonia because there was fluid in his lungs. He was not getting better. We finally convinced him to go to the ER and he was admitted with congestive heart failure.

So if your instinct is saying there's something more, it would be a good idea to get another opinion. Please keep in touch and let us know how you're doing. - Warmly, Donna (Team Member)

  2. Thanks a lot for your reply , I will get a second opinion as well . But based on the above factors do you think I might have lung cancer ?

    1. , I wish I could give you an assurance, but we're not medical professionals. And as I said about my partner, three medical professionals initially got it wrong. The absolute best advice I can share is to get to a doctor, and if it doesn't feel right, get to one who inspires confidence.

I can share a couple of articles that may have some useful information:
