Well, it was cancer free for one year. I had a scan last summer that was clean, but it was having some difficulty swallowing, so my oncologist suggested it have an endoscopy.
During the procedure the surgeon saw something unusual, so he removed part of it and it to pathology. It was malignant!
I have esophageal cancer that didn't even show up on the scan.
I went to a specialist in Orlando- seventy miles away. He removed the tumor surgically and I've had to go back a few times for dilation of the esophagus.
Cancer sucks.
I have to decide if I'm going to have chemo and radiation, but i want to see what the next PET scan shows. If there has been no metastisis I'm going to pass on it . My oncologist and radiation doctor are okay with this..
Going back to Orlando this week for dilation.. of course i can't drive there because of general anesthesia. Wish me luck
