"I was diagnosed with lung cancer last year. It was non small cell stage 2A. I had my left lung removed on 5/2/18, went through chemotherapy and will be having a new scan in April. The cancer diagnosis and treatment really set me back. I was a smoker but thought "it would never happen to me". I had such a hard time with the surgery, chemotherapy and emotional thoughts and feelings. I'm feeling a lot better now, joined an excercise club and I am seeing a counselor regularly for anxiety and depression. I also take an antidepressant and something to help me sleep if I need to. It has been and will continue to be a journey for me. I'm realizing that I'm certaining not alone in my struggles as I have met some pretty awesome people who have made me realize how lucky I am. I also have the most wonderful family, I couldn't have made it this far without them."
