How long will Alcensa after Xalkori work?
How effective is Alecensa after Xalkori stops working? My wife took 2.5 years of chemo and radiation, then 2.5 years on Xalkori. After the mutation spread from the lung to the brain, she has been taking Alecensa for two years. My question is under these circumstances how long will Alecensa stay effective? she is 50, and she got the cancer seven years ago.

I think everybody is different. I have Xalkori for more than 4.5 years and still use it. Also if only the brain is metastatic, you can treat the brain alone and keep using Xalkori. Are you in States or Canada? Are you part of the lung cancer patient support group? There are a lot of information.
