What to expect in final stage

My mom was hospitalized for coughing blood, they thought it was pneumonia. Scans showed a 7.3cm mass in her lung. lymph nodes swollen. No treatments she could survive, she also had double lung surgery, kidney cancer 3 years ago COPD the list goes on. Shes refusing doctors, hospice all the above. Shes short tempered, aggressive and easily agitated. Easily confused. Says she has pain in her hips, headaches. Whats to come? Im scared.

  1. I'm so sorry for your mom. Has she done the biomarking testing? She might found biomarkers, and she just needs one or two pills per day for targeted therapy. Christine lungcancer.net team

    1. Hi . I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I'm sure this is extremely difficult. Considering all your mom has been through it is not terribly surprising that she struggles with the idea of more treatment and also experiences mood swings and confusion. I don't know if it is possible to convince her to at least look into those things that may make her more comfortable. The concern that comes up to me is for not only your mother, but also you and the entire family. I want to share with you the search results for articles in our archive on caregivers: https://lungcancer.net/search?s=caregiver. There you will find information for resources that may help assist your mom, but also resources to assist you through this time. Please know that this community is here for you. Wishing you and your family the best. Richard (LungCancer.net Team)
