Survivor's Guilt

Survivor's guilt is something that can be felt if you outlive someone who was diagnosed with lung cancer and did not survive.

Have you felt this before? If so, how did you cope? Have you been able to turn it around and use this energy toward something else?

  1. I was 47 years old when I was diagnosed with Stage 4. I thought that was young. Well, after being involved with a lot of support groups, I've seen so many younger people pass and they shouldn't have. I'm 52 now. I have no children. I've always said, "why am I still around and not them?"

    1. Yes, it is concerning when hearing of younger people being diagnosed, and 47 is at that mark. We can't question the why (we can but...) maybe you can think of your survival as a face for many to look at as you strive towards survivorship. Wishing you the very best!
