Self-Care & More

What does self-care look like for you these days? Do you have a weekly or daily routine you try to stick to? What keeps you mentally calm when things feel stressul?

  1. The most rewarding activity I have been involved with since I completed chemo is swimming good for the lungs, you get to move your muscles, and being in the pool is very calming for me.

    1. that is such a great outlet. I am glad to hear you are enjoying this. Jill (Team Member)

    2. Swimming has so many great benefits, and I'm so happy you found this activity to get in the exercise mobility that can be helpful in lung capacity. Wishing you the very best!

  2. Well, no swimming today since I have three areas bandaged by my dermatologist yesterday, and she is sending the specimens out for biopsy. And I just had Mohs surgery on my scalp a month ago!
However, the good news is I saw my oncologist yesterday and she uttered the magic word: REMISSION.
I RANG the bell that is mounted on a wall in the treatment room, and the ENTIRE STAFF was there, applauding me!
I had tears in my eyes. It was truly a moment in the sun for me. Ciao!

    1. that is AMAZING!! It must have felt so good to ring that bell. I am so glad the staff was there to celebrate with you. What a wonderful moment for you. Jill (Team Member)

Now my next immediate challenge is surviving Hurricane Milton. I am about 70 miles Northeast of Orlando.
