How to get involved?

Hi, I am finally starting to get my head wrapped around my diagnosis. After 3 rounds of Breast cancer I have been DX with Lung cancer - spread to brains and bones. Now that I am starting to get a grasp on my own little world of this I would like to help with some kind of advocacy and helping to support others to the point which I am capable. I don't want to over extend, have Chemo every 3 weeks and it takes a week to recover, but want to do something bigger than just taking care of me. Suggestions?

  1. Hi, great to hear you want to pay it forward. Helping others makes such a difference. I was diagnosed 22.5 years ago and I found getting involved and meeting other survivors was a life-saver for me. I am attaching a link below to a not for profit company that has many volunteer opportunities. We can use all the help we can get in spreading awareness. Please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. Best, Alisa, Lung Cancer Team Patient Leader

    1. Sorry to hear of your diagnosis but find it awesome that you want to give back despite everything. The lung cancer community especially can use all the voices they can in bringing about awareness. Perhaps you can reach out to your medical facility and see if a social worker there can help guide you to local resources to volunteer in some way. Wishing you the very best!
