Lung Cancer Awareness Month Gala and Travel Raffle

I am excited about our organization’s upcoming Lung Cancer Awareness Month event. After nearly 10 years of operation, LiveLung is hosting its first ever Gala!

I know most folks are unable to travel to attend, but I want to share information about the gala in case you are in the area or would like to support the charity event by entering our travel raffle.

You're invited to LiveLung's first gala

The Inaugural LiveLung Gala will be held from 7pm to 10pm, Saturday, November 2, at the Morehead Inn, 1122 East Morehead St., Charlotte, NC. The historic Morehead Inn is a beautiful setting for such a special event. The theme of the gala is “A World of Hope.” Each of the beautiful main floor rooms will feature food and wine from a different country. We will have food and wine from France, Italy, Germany, and the United States.

It’s really going to be a special night. Just before the gala, we will host a special reception for our survivors/patients.

Thankful for our volunteer and corporate supporters

We are so grateful to our volunteer organizers who are involved in the Charlotte Lung Cancer Group. These folks took it upon themselves to undertake this huge initiative. Their goal was to raise enough money to cover the cost of our Charlotte programs for the year.

We are also very thankful to the corporations that are sponsoring the event, because, trust me, this type of event is not cheap!

Fundraising for the lung cancer community

At $125, tickets are pricey, at least by my standard. But I noticed tickets for another lung cancer gala are selling for $500 bucks, so this is a bargain. Plus, lung cancer patients/survivors may attend free of charge. (As long as they RSVP before we sell out of tickets!)

We will also have a silent auction and a wine pull during the gala. So, there will be a lot going on!

Funds raised during the event will support our network of Lung Cancer Meetings and our Hope Tote program. We have several monthly meetings in NC, SC, FL, MI, and VA. We will also be starting more meetings in 2020. The Hope Totes are gift bags that nurse navigators give to their lung cancer patients. We provide these gift bags to about 25 different cancer centers.

Enter the travel raffle!

If you are not able to attend the gala, you can still be a part of it by entering the travel raffle. Travel tickets cost $100 and we will only sell 100 tickets. The winner will select the prize of their choice from the following three options:

Napa Valley Vineyards
