Nodule size right lung

Hi I was told I had a 7 mm nodule at the time that they found it after i complained of chest pain via coughing. I went to the GO, Pulmonary and they said it was small that it was not worth extracting. That it will get smaller in time. So my ques5is do I myself ask for a cancer screening test for my lungs? Neither doctor's said anything Abt that? Also the cough has come back I did also have a blood clot that came through on August of last year which I was shocked. That went away. But now that this cough comes up sporadically as well as my wbc and platelets are low. Need advice here. Thank you.

  1. Hi I can understand your concerns. Considering that you have a nodule, cough and your wbc and platelets are low, I think asking for a screening is completely understandable. I am sending over this article that I hope helps you, it is a 2 part series that I think will provide you with some important information: https://lungcancer.net/living/screening-saves-lives-part1. It is always a good idea to be an advocate for yourself. Please keep us posted on how you are doing. Jill, (lungcancer.net team)

  2. I have to say I am shocked that none of your doctors told you to come back in 3-6 months to rescan and see if it is stable or moving. That would be standard of care I believe. I would insist on a referral for a low dose ct scan. Another option is if you have a smoking history you may automatically qualify for a screening program, many hospitals now have them. The link above that Jill posted has the requirements. Please reach out if you need more information and kindly update us, we are here for you! ~ Alisa, Lung Cancer Team Patient Leader

  3. Hi , just checking in with you to see if you requested the screening, and if you've gotten any answers. How are you doing today? - Warmly, Donna (Team Member)

    1. Hi. Well i did go and the doctor said it was smaller. Though I didn't take a screen for it. He told me that , it showed from last time 3cm from a 5cm. But now my concerns are 2 hand smoke per where I live weed is legal. So, my tenant below smokes 24/7 and everyone else who is there. It is affecting my skin itchiness and dizziness, and my stomach turns I chuck up after I smell all that. Its worrying me and I don't want anything to happen to my lungs or my family who also has to smell that and ingested via shared space. I'm just like .Dumbfounded as to what to do. I don't smoke never had. My mom was a smoker and dad as well. So I dont know why they made this legal. It's hurting ppl . IM sorry but this is constant and I I just want this cm to be any bigger. Anh suggestions please let me know. Yes i have spoken to Management but Money no matter where it is coming from is more important than a tenant. Again sorry for being off topic but I'm not at all thinking straight . This is really bugging me. Besides that, I greatly appreciate you asking about me. God bless

    2. , not off topic at all, it is concerns regarding your lung cancer. I'm glad you id go to the doctor. May I ask why you decided not to take the screening?

I can understand the predicament. A couple of thoughts - can you perhaps get some hepa filters? You may be able to get your insurance to help with it if your doctor writes a prescription. It is really inconvenient but maybe the apartment management can relocate your apartment to a non-smoking area of the building?

Has anyone else in the community encountered a situation like this? If so, how did you resolve it? - Warmly, Donna (Team Member)
