Newly diagnosed

I have been diagnosed with stage 1b non-small cell carcinoma. I will be having surgery on 9/12. I have refused to do chemo or radiation. Has anybody else refused chemo and just went with surgery?

  1. Hi we will be thinking of you and please keep us posted on how you are doing post-op. I am sending you an article that I hope you find interesting. It talks about the various treatments and what our members chose to do, some of which was just surgery: https://lungcancer.net/answers/treatment-experiences. Sending you lots of strength. 1. Have you considered joining a support group? A group may be a great source to get similar experiences in foregoing chemo while just doing surgery. It's great when you can get other patients' perspectives, but in the case that doesn't happen before 9/12 be sure to ask your doctor for possible resources to keep your mind at ease, along with the benefits pros and cons. Wishing you the very best!
