Looking for other options for mom

Hi Nelly, I'm sorry to hear your Mom's cancer spread. To make sure I understand correctly - your Mom has breast cancer that spread to her lungs, she doesn't have lung cancer, correct? I have read many good studies regarding proton therapy and breast cancer. I'm looking into proton myself for some lung nodules. Hi . I just wanted to follow up on Alisa's comment. When a cancer metastasizes and moves to a different organ it maintains the characteristics of the original cancer, so the treatments for it will still need to focus on that type of cancer. I can note to you that as this article states "Proton therapy can treat solid tumors, but it cannot treat cancer cells that have metastasized to different parts of the body:" https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/325756. I did some looking over at our sister-site which Alisa provided and found that we do have a number of articles discussing breast cancer that has metastasized to the lungs.
