How do you show support for fellow cancer patients?

Everyone prefers being supported differently.

When venting to someone about a particular challenge you're facing with lung cancer, how do you prefer for someone to react? Silence? Or advice?

  1. Usually when I'm venting I just want to be heard and understood, I don't need anything but a nod or "I understand". If I am venting and looking for advice, I am clear with them that I would appreciate their advice.

    1. I think unless someone is going through the same thing or has had similar experiences, it's best to stay quiet and just be an ear to listen.
