Experience with Lessons

What 2 words describe your experience with lung cancer? How has it strengthened you?

  1. Side affects. I was dealing with the first cancer which was stage 4 surgery chemo & radiation before surgery for lung cancer. I deal with the side affects every day I'm stronger mentally not physically.

    1. I am glad to hear you are stronger mentally. But it sounds like your physical side effects are taking a toll on you. What are you suffering with most? Jill (Team Member)

  2. I have side side effects from chemo and radiation. To some foods that I love to eat it changed the taste we're I'm not able to eat those food. Cold weather during winter & the cold air from the AC during the summer affects the top of my head & the surgery scar on my back. I wear a warm hat all year along with a coat inside or a warm winter vest during the summer. The worst is the lymphedema in my legs. Since I have to wear garments to keep under control it's starting to effect my walking. Now have to use a walker or walking cane for walking to keep me from falling.

    1. this is a lot to have to deal with. From losing food that you used to enjoy to having issues walking, I can understand why this would be so hard for you. Is there anything else your doctor has suggested that can help with your swelling? Jill (Team Member)

  3. I have to wear compression garments for the lymphedema and I have a machine I also use when it gets bad to help in the reduction of the swelling from the lymphadema.

    1. I am glad you have the machine as well to help with the swelling. You are going through a lot, and we are here whenever you want to share or vent. Sending you strength. Jill (Team Member)
