BRAF gene mutation

Diagnosed with BRAF gene mutation in June, 2024. I’m still in a state of shock, never smoked. I’m on a targeted therapy now and wondering if there’s anyone out there who is also on a targeted therapy. Metastatic, stage four, and was told it is only in my left lung.

  1. Hi I am sure this is such a shock. I can't even imagine how difficult this is for you. While I do hope our community members respond here with their personal experiences, I am sending over this forum discussion that I hope can help: https://lungcancer.net/forums/targeted-therapy. Sending you strength. Jill (Team Member)

    1. I can imagine not smoking a day in your life to be diagnosed was devastating. Wishing you nothing but the very best!

      1. Hi Debra, I know how you feel. It is a highly charged roller coaster ride. I did not have BRAF but I did have NSC Lung cancer, left lung at the top. I could not have surgery as lungs are too bad. Two years ago I had five days of high dose radiation. There is only scar tissue now but I still receive ct scans every six months. Have one coming up in November. Trust your doctors. Just breathe. Sounds like an excellent treatment plan. All the best to you.

        1. thanks for joining the conversation. I hope your scan goes smoothly for you. Keep us posted on how you are doing. Jill (Team Member)
