Acts that Matter

Last updated: November 2018

"Please let me know if you need anything."

A phrase sometimes heard frequently after telling family, friends, even acquaintances about your lung cancer. Often the best way to offer support is through action. We asked the community to share the most helpful thing someone has done for them since their diagnosis.

Little acts of kindness and support can go a long way. Although everyone who shared had a different experience, the ways in which people offered help were all simple, sincere acts of kindness...

  • "Spent time with me over a cup of coffee"
  • "Mowed my lawn"
  • "Got cards in the mail"
  • "Most family and friends treat me the same as they did before my cancer and for that, I am so grateful"

We want to hear from you! What other ways have people shown you kindness and support since your diagnosis?
