PET Scan Results Tomorrow

I had my second PET scan done last Wednesday..so this Wednesday I see the oncologist and get the results..nerve wrecking..God’s helping me deal with this but my Brother hasn’t even called me in 3 weeks..It’s not because he can’t handle it but due to a long running problem with a nephew he enables and threatens innocent children..Anyway my first diagnosis was NSCC..after pathology it said Adenocarcinoma NSCC Stage 1..I don’t know why the difference..Say a prayer for me

  1. Hi ,
Understandable that awaiting your PET scan results is nerve-wracking! And I’m sorry that you are having some trials with your relationship with your brother. I hope things will work out for you.
I also wanted to share some info regarding your diagnosis and staging that may be insightful. Adenocarcinoma is a subtype of non-small cell lung cancer and is the most common NSCLC (https://lungcancer.net/types-non-small-cell), and stage 1 means it is a small tumor (between 2-5cm) and has not spread to anywhere else in the body (https://lungcancer.net/basics/non-small-cell-staging).
Please keep us updated with your results if you’d like. Know that we are here for you!
    Thinking of you,
    Christina, lungcancer.net Team

    1. My PET Scan was clear..labs good..still have to have an EDG and colonoscopy to check for minuscule cancer cells..Next CT is Aug 28th..My doctor told me I am still healing..I guess I try to rush things..

      1. That’s great news that your scan was clear and labs good! I hope you get good results with the EDG and colonoscopy too.
Thank you for keeping us updated! We are here for you anytime.
        Kindly,
        Christina, lungcancer.net Team

    2. That's wonderful to hear that your PET scan was clear and that your doctor is proactively running more tests. Warm regards, Alisa, lungcancer.net Team

Have you checked out our Facebook page? There tends to be more community activity there, but it is the same information and articles shared on our site 🙂 Here is a link for our Facebook page: https://m.facebook.com/LungCancerDotNet/. Hope to see you there as well!
