My stories started in six years and four months. I had a bad infection went to ER they done a chest xray . The Dr found a small spot on upper left lung. I didn’t see 2 months later had a appointment Dr I seen the nurse practitioner I asked if they had got report from ER. They hadn’t, she called and chewed them out.. She got report she was really upset.. She sent me to get a Pet scan it lit up. I didn’t cry I think I was in shock .. It didn’t get to me until after the surgery. Four days later I knew I had cancer the surgeon came in and told me stage three in lymphnodes.. He had told me I was going to die. Went to see oncologist he wanted me to have radiation I wouldn’t do it I felt I was too weak. So I did six months chemotherapy. I am now six years and four months lung cancer survivor. I believe I’m still alive to help others with lung cancer. susiejo1943

Wonderful to hear you are a six years and four months survivor, I find that very encouraging, and I wish you LOTS more.

@susiejo1943 thank you so much for sharing this. I know many of the readers may relate to your experience. It’s absolutely horrible that the ball was dropped at ER and you’re appointment took so long. I’m happy about your 6-year survival and I wish you so many more. Best to you!
