Turkey Tail mushrooms

I watched a presentation about Turkey Tail mushrooms as being helpful to treat cancer. Has anyone used this?

  1. While we are not permitted to give out any information that may be taken as medical advice, I can tell you that I personally take turkey tail in the form of PSP/Coriolus Versicolor. Turkey tail is the generic form. There are many favorable studies, but one must check with their doctor to make sure it doesn't interfere with any treatment. I started taking it, along with other botanicals, 23 years ago when I finished my chemo treatments so I do not have to worry about any contraindications. If you go to pubmed.org and put int the search terms "lung cancer" + "coriolus versicolor" you shoud find some encouraging abstracts. Wishing you all the best, Alisa, Lung Cancer Team Patient Leader

    1. Thank you

    2. I have completed radiation and chemotherapy and now doing immunotherapy,

      1. Many doctors are not well versed when it comes to Integrative Medicine. May I suggest asking your medical care team whether it will interfere with immuno rather than asking if it will help. If they say it will interfere, I would ask how and research the information they give you. ~ Alisa

    3. I did ask my oncologist about it and he didn't recommend it because it may interfere with immunotherapy.

      1. Sorry to hear that. Perhaps when you finish immunotherapy you can approach the subject again with your doctors. All the best! ~ Alisa
