Scanxiety

I can’t say I really have scanxiety. I was diagnosed in April 2023. I have a type of lung cancer that is a result of a genetic mutation, my cancer is controlled with an oral medication. What my cancer does is cause me to be very health and diet conscious. I find comfort in taking actions that may keep me healthy such as walking, taking supplements or eating lots of veggies and fruits. I also can stop the things that can do me harm, such as excessive alcohol use and sugar intake. No, I’m in no way perfect in my actions, health is just something I strive for.

  1. One thing lung cancer will do is make you more mindful of what is better or worse for the body at a compromising state. It's good to hear you're doing your due diligence in being mindful of what will do more good than harm. There is a thought by many that just because you get diagnosed with cancer or other chronic condition it means you're no longer healthy; we all can aspire to do what's best for our bodies despite some hangnails. I'm glad you found a balance! Wishing you the very best!
