neuropathy

i would like to know how to deal with numbness’s in my legs and toes. Are there any recommendations for exercise- such as riding a stationary bike- weight and resistance training etc.Does exercise such as this help or hinder? My neuropathy is due to Chemo finished up almost a year ago. SamC

  1. Hi . I can't personally speak to this issue, but I want to share with you this article which compiled thoughts from the community on dealing with neuropathy: https://lungcancer.net/answers/managing-neuropathy. Hopefully others will chime in with their thoughts/experiences. Best, Richard (LungCancer.net Team)

  2. It really depends on the range of neuropathy you may be experiencing. You may wish to discuss further with your doctor. Stretching routines geared to re lower body are a good go-to reference even if an actual routine is not clear to take. Best!

    1. Thanks!

  3. Many thanks for the suggestions and website info. Much appreciated! Sam

    1. Hi , N-acetyl-cysteine (NAC) has been known to help alleviate neuropathy. Since you are no longer in treatment, you don't have to worry about any interactions, but to be cautious, I would run it by your medical care team. It helped me greatly, I only have a little bit of tingling in my big toes left, I barely notice it anymore. I'm attaching an article from pubmed (Nat'l Institute of Health database) explaining the research behind NAC. Wishing you the very best, please let us know how it goes.
