Lc symptoms

Ct result 3mm lower nodule & upper 4.5 r nodule. Have had increasingly worse cough, shortness of breath, hoarseness, tiredness. I have been seeing my family Dr for almost yr 1/2 for symptoms, putting them off on my asthma with ever changing Px’s although clear lungs. Until finally ct and I demanded appt with pulm on Thurs. My cough affecting quality of life at this point. Tips for appt ? Biopsy ?

  1. Hi , I understand your frustration, I was back and forth to my Primary Care doctor for a year before I finally got diagnosed. I'm glad you pushed for an appointment with a pulmonologist. I'm attaching a link below to an article written by our Editorial Team that should help with questions regarding diagnosing lung cancer and various steps. The doctor may want to do a PET scan before a biopsy, depending on what he sees on CT scan. Please keep us updated, we are here to share and support each other. Thinking of you and wishing you the best at your appointment tomorrow, I hope you get answers. Kindly, Alisa, Lung Cancer Team Patient Leader

    1. Thank you.

      1. Sorry to hear about the pushback with your doctor. This brings back memories of what my mom experienced. What I can say is kudos to you for doing just that "Pushing back" with your doctor for an appointment with another eye as to what is going on.

        Tips:
Bring a notepad with questions you have, and ask the doctor to explain them clearly.

Ask what is the process and if your symptoms really have anything to do with your asthma.

Leave the appointment feeling somewhat satisfied in finding out exactly what is going on. Please let us know how things turn out. Wishing you the very best!

        1. Hi . Just want to touch base and see how your appointment went and how you are doing? Hoping all is well and please know that this community is here for you. Best, Richard (LungCancer.net Team)
