Immuno Therapy

I was diagnosed stage 4 non small cell lung cancer June of 2017. Primary location was my left lung and secondary location was T-12 on my spine. Following 10 radiation treatments on my spine I went for a 2nd opinion and was offered a chance to enroll in a clinical trial. I received 52 infusions of Opdivo & Yervoy over a 24 month period to rev up my immune system . I also received monthly shots of Xgeva for bone strength. November 2nd 2021 my CT Scan revealed for the 3rd time that I am cancer free. I led a normal life during treatment with only minor reaction. I will continue to be monitored as my Oncologist prescribes.

  1. Fantastic to hear you are cancer free! Thank you for taking the time to share with our community. I'm sure it offers hope to many reading this. All the best, Alisa, LungCancer.net Team

    1. Thank you so much for sharing . This is the kind of story people need to hear about clinical trials - helping others while helping yourself. This is doubly important now that Opdivo and Yervoy is an approved combination therapy. I am mentally bookmarking your post to share when the topic comes up. Wishing you the best. Richard (LungCancer.net Team)

      1. I feel duty bound to share my success ! I live in SW Missouri and while some may feel they need to run to Houston Tx. or Rochester Mn. I found we have a hidden gem in NW Arkansas. Highlands Oncology Group was my savior along with God above. Highlands with locations in Fayetteville ( currently under remodel ) Springdale Ar. Rogers Ar. and a new unit currently being built in Mountain Home Ar. provided me an opportunity to continue life while maintaining a good quality of life.
