Diagnosed at the age of 28 with Stage IIIA Lung Cancer during a particularly challenging period in her life, she faced the daunting reality of balancing her 2nd year in a PhD program, her newlywed life, and the responsibilities of being a new homeowner. What was supposed to be the start of a new chapter instead became a fight for survival, as she had to advocate for herself to be heard and believed by doctors.
